Becoming a Foster Parent
Becoming a foster parent is an incredibly impactful commitment that helps shelters provide injured, ill, or neonatal kittens with a safe, and loving environment until they are ready for adoption. Shelters and foster organizations will provide food, medications, carriers and laundry. All you'll need to do is provide the love! Fostering truly does save lives. Neonatal or sick kittens often require specialized, attentive, and 'round the clock care, which can be difficult for shelters to provide. This puts these animals at a disadvantage, and can lead to secondary issues, failure to thrive, fatality, or chronic illness. Fostering solves this by providing at-risk kittens with a safe home in which to recover. If you are interested in becoming a foster parent, google search "SPCA near me." You will find a local shelter or rescue organization in your area with links to foster programs. Below are the links to foster programs in the Davis (95616) and Bay Area (94025) locations.
